Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BibleBoat ("App") and the services provided through the App. By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

The App provides the following Bible-based English learning services:

  1. English Bible text reading with Korean translations
  2. English vocabulary learning (pop-up dictionary, word saving)
  3. Dictation exercises
  4. Learning progress tracking (streaks, badges, daily quests, Voyage Points)
  5. Multi-device learning data synchronization (registered users only)
  6. Text-to-speech (TTS) playback
  7. Other supplementary features

2. Account Registration

  1. You may create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
  2. Non-registered users may access basic features of the App. Certain features, such as multi-device synchronization, are available only to registered users.
  3. You may delete your account at any time through the App. Upon deletion, all data stored on our servers will be immediately destroyed.

3. In-App Purchases

  1. Certain content is available for purchase through Apple App Store or Google Play Store in-app purchases.
  2. Available purchase options include:
  3. All purchases are one-time, non-subscription purchases. There are no auto-renewing subscriptions.
  4. Payments are processed through your Apple or Google account. The App does not directly collect payment information (such as credit card numbers).
  5. Refunds are subject to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  6. You may restore purchases on a new device using the same Apple ID or Google account.

4. Free Content

  1. The first 3 chapters of each book of the Bible are available free of charge.
  2. The scope of free content may change at our discretion.

5. User Obligations

You agree not to:

  1. Use another person's account without authorization
  2. Use information obtained through the App for commercial purposes without prior written consent
  3. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  4. Interfere with the normal operation of the service
  5. Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Intellectual Property

  1. All intellectual property rights in the App and service, including copyrights and trademarks, belong to the operator.
  2. Bible text is sourced from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB) and is subject to its license terms.
  3. You may use content provided through the service for personal learning purposes only.

7. Service Modifications and Termination

  1. We may modify all or part of the service as necessary for technical or operational reasons.
  2. If the service needs to be suspended, we will provide advance notice through the App. In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, system failures, etc.), notice may be provided after the fact.
  3. If the service is permanently discontinued, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice and appropriate compensation to paid content users in accordance with applicable laws.

8. Disclaimers

  1. We are not responsible for service disruptions caused by your actions or negligence.
  2. Unless otherwise required by applicable law, we are not liable for services provided free of charge.
  3. Bible texts and translations provided in the App are for educational reference purposes only. We do not guarantee theological or doctrinal accuracy.
  4. We are not responsible for service unavailability caused by issues with external platforms such as Apple or Google.
  5. THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

10. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our separate Privacy Policy. Please refer to the Privacy Policy within the App for details.

11. Changes to These Terms

  1. We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be notified through in-app notices at least 7 days before they take effect. For changes that are unfavorable to users, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
  2. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
  3. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you may stop using the service and delete your account.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Any disputes arising from the use of the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, either party may file a lawsuit with the competent court under applicable law.
